Celebrate Mattel's 75th Anniversary With a Special Dreamhouse® Set and New Dolls!

By Allen Voivod

Happy anniversary, Mattel! Since 1955, Mattel has been a source of wonder and creativity. Now, in honor of 75 remarkable years, Barbie® Signature has designed two Barbie® Collector Mattel 75th Anniversary Dolls and created a stunning vintage reproduction of the original 1962 Barbie® Dreamhouse!

From humble beginnings in Southern California to worldwide acclaim for its innovation and inspiration, Mattel has influenced multiple generations of fans in its first 75 years. And though some of the earlier generations of fans have grown up, they've never forgotten the glamour, or the fun, or the power of the imagination! Our tributes to Mattel for this special occasion are also tributes to those ideals.

Each sold separately, the blonde and brunette versions of the Barbie® Collector Mattel 75th Anniversary Dolls wear a design inspired by the original Mattel logo, which debuted in 1955. Dressed in flowing, red chiffon gowns with an intricate serrated trim throughout, Barbie® celebrates the august event with elegance, glamor, and an inspired couture creation. Each doll's hair is styled in voluminous curls that have been pulled back to accentuate her golden hoop earrings and a bold red lip. These two Black Label® dolls, designed by Robert Best, will retail for $60 each in the online shop. When they debut, there will be a limit of two (2) of each doll per person. (This limit is subject to change at a later date.)

The vintage reproduction of the original Barbie® Dreamhouse® comes with a Barbie® doll as well, and for the first time ever, this classic Barbie® playset will also come with replicas of Barbie® fashions and accessories! Taking Barbie® doll from a day on the town to a dinner party and finally to a relaxing night in, the set includes reproductions of Busy Morning from 1963, Silk Sheath Dress from 1962, and Two-Piece Pink Pajamas from 1962.

The Dreamhouse® itself looks just like its counterpart from 1962, right down to the mid-century modern décor, self-assembled slim-line furniture, and decorative accessories. You can even fold the walls to neatly store the furnishings and create a portable carry case for on-the-go fun. It's like a piece of those good old days is back again! This Platinum Label® set retails for $200 and will also be limited to two (2) per person when it debuts. (This limit is subject to change at a later date as well.)

A 75th anniversary is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion. Dolls and a Dreamhouse® made to mark that occasion are not to be missed. So what are you waiting for? Click over to the online shop now to get the Blonde Barbie® Collector Mattel 75th Anniversary Doll, the Brunette Barbie® Collector Mattel 75th Anniversary Doll, and the Barbie® Dreamhouse® 1962 Repro today!

I ordered the two pack at $120, two days later they drop the price to $108??  Ugh........I mean that is really annoying.  I like the dolls and wanted them but that ticks me off.............

My red 75th anniversary was waiting for me when I got home. If you like curls...she has tons of them. And the box is kinda interesting.

Well I'll say two things....... #1.I contacted Mattel because I bought the set the day they were out and the very next day they dropped the price........they gave me the difference back.  I was pleased that they did that.  However, #2, I got the dolls in the mail yesterday........I think the pictures online actually look better than either of the dolls that I received.  They just don't seem that great quality to me for an anniversary doll.  Just my opinion, but I was disappointed.
